KERALA BAGS THE BEST STATE AWARD FOR COVID FIGHT 03102020
Kerala has bagged India Today’s best big state award for better governance. The award was presented by Nitin Gadkari, Union minister of road transport and highways, to Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan at a function organised at Grand Hotel, New Delhi.
Kerala was selected for the award in honour of some excellent development initiatives by the state government including Haritha Keralam and Aardram mission, and the high representation of women in local self-governing bodies, decentralisation, excellent e-services and houses to around 4 lakh people.
The award ceremony was attended by Kerala chief secretary KM Abraham, chief minister’s principal secretary VS Senthil, Kerala House resident commissioner and additional chief secretary Vishwas Mehta and other top officials.
The chief minister credited the award to the people of Kerala.
